| Artifact Six:
Essays This artifact
consists of essays written for my mid-terms and finals during my reading
master's classes at ASU.
Context: This artifact shows the
knowledge that I have learned in my master's classes. The essays
include information that I have learned in Dr. Schlagal's and Dr. Trathen's
classes and/or read in required readings. I have also included my
professional opinion from my teaching experience.
Impact: The impact of this artifact
has been the knowledge I have gained from my master level classes.
These essays focus on the latest research in reading education.
Because of these courses, I am now a better teacher of reading. I
understand how children learn to read and what difficulties can get in their
way.
Alignment: These
reading assessments are aligned with the following
NBPTS standards.
Standard 1 Teachers are committed to
students and their learning. These essays show my understanding of
individual differences and how I can take these into account in my teaching.
Standard 2 Teachers know the subjects
they teach and how to teach those subjects to students. These essays
show my knowledge of reading education and how I would teach reading to my
students.
