The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics

This is a website for teachers who will be teaching mathematics in their classroom.

Context:

During my block at Appalachian State University, my mathematics methods class introduced me to this website, which is a professional organization that will give me insight on teaching mathematics in the elementary school.

Impact:

The NCTM web page will be used as a resource guide for teaching mathematics in my class.  It will provide me with continual information on the newest way to teach mathematics.  During my block at ASU we were introduced to the principles and standards of mathematics through this website.  I hope to continue to use this website as a guide to help me make math more enjoyable for my students.

Alignment:

The NCTM website will help me learn a variety of strategies of mathematics to help my students understand the concept better and more clearly.  This website will be very beneficial to me when I become a teacher and will be a reliable resource for me.(Tech. Comp. V A)
