The portrait of a learner video is an assessment tool used to demonstrate a child's learning throughout a portion of the school year. The video follows David, a child at Beech Mountain Elementary school through his learning environment ( 10.2).

The video includes a look at the school and surroundings. The school is on a hill overlooking a beautiful countryside. The video includes a look at the playground where the children enjoy themselves after school and on Friday's when they get to get a soft drink. This video portray's David in his classroom interacting with other students in a variety of learning activities. David is shown from the beginning of the semester and continuing throughout his learning experiences. David's progress is seen as the video portray's this segment of the school year(12.3). The progress shown in this video could be used with the principal or the child's parents to show the child's improvement and what the child needs help with.. This video is taken at different times of the day and throughout the semester. The video shows how David has improved in his reading and math skills. This clip is a picture of the child(12.2)
