Literature Database

Context:  This database was created in my Language Arts methods class in the spring of 2002.  I read twenty children's books  from a variety of genres and put them onto a database that is accessible through the web.

Impact: This database is an excellent resource for teachers. It will assist me in choosing the literature that I would like to present in my classroom. Each database consist of a summary, instructional strategies and a book rating by the reviewer. I can find literature on all different levels and different genres.

Alignment:  This database will assist me in quickly finding books that I can use in my classroom. It will be easy for me to look up a book and see the reviewer's evaluation (Tech Comp V C). By creating this database, I am communicating with teachers and parents. They can easily look on the database for suggested book readings (Tech Comp V D).     I will increase my knowledge of children's literature by referring to this database in the future.
