As
a closure activity, have the students choose their favorite Patricia Polacco
book. Taking a sheet of poster board, have the students fold it in half.
Have them draw on the front, their favorite scene from a book of their
choice. Include the title, the author, publishing information, and copyright
date. On the inside, have the student's include a summary of the book,
and why it is their favorite book. Make sure they include their name somewhere
on their projects. Once the projects are completed display them around
the room. Feel free to display them on the wall, on tables around the room,
or in any creative manner.
Another alternative may be to have the students rewrite their own rendition of their favorite Polacco book. Have them include illustrations and a title page. Encourage them to use figurative language, descriptions, and advanced vocabulary. |
