Media Literacy Project
     This web page was created to promote media literacy in a 1-2 lesson plan.  The activities created in this lesson include allowing the students to work cooperatively to create a news broadcast (12.5).  While working on this project the students will be experiencing several different types of media.  They will be watching and analyzing a news broadcast  on the television (10.2).   They will have the experience of using the camcorder to produce their own broadcast (12.1) (12.7).  This web page lists the computer skill curriculum strands for grades 1-2 (10.1) (10.4).  When the students have finished their news broadcast, we will watch it in class and go over some of the pros and cons of the presentation (11.4). This web page also includes several links for other resources to use when planning your media activity (10.3).
