Artifact Seven: Research This artifact will be used to show several research papers that were written while I was in graduate school. Based on similar rubrics, I present the following papers. Context: The first of my research papers includes the action research that was conducted while in the class word study with Dr. Bloodgood. Another of the research papers is my research of word sorts and the ESL student in Dr. Moorman's class. The third is my NCLB research paper produced in the class teacher as a researcher. Standards: ● Standard A: Instructional Expertise In gathering data for my research projects, I utilized several different professional journals to gather the latest research. After compiling the information, I was able to compare information and provide my perspective on the topics at hand. Also, by performing the research in my classroom, I gained first-hand information of proof of my research. ● Standard B: Knowledge of the Learners By practicing my stated theories with the students in my room, I was able to provide for them the best developmental instruction. As the students used their learning, it was evident that some of my theories were right on target. This artifact was all about research. Not only was I performing active research in my classroom, I was gaining important historical research by reading and studying the different articles of the same research that had been done prior to my inquiry. ● Standard D: Content Knowledge The research was changed and improved upon daily in the classroom based on the content area knowledge. When something didn't work, I was able to quickly diagnose what should be the next lesson for the student. ● Standard E: Professional Development and Leadership After I performed the research, I shared the findings with others in my school who had some of the same questions about students' learning. By then working together, we were able to continue our learning to impact our students. |
