North Carolina Council of Teaching Mathematics Conference:  was held in Greensboro, North Carolina October 4-5 2000.  It took place at the Koury Convention Center.  This conference offered many seminars and workshops to teachers and teachers in training.

Context
I attended this NCCTM conference in the Fall 2000 of my pre-service training at Appalachian State University.

Impact
The Math Conference offered me many opportunities to interact with my peers and colleagues. I attended 2 workshops and many sessions that dealt with math in the classroom.  I received many handouts and information about how I can implement a successful math program in my classroom.  Many of the sessions offered discussions on new ideas for math teachers. I will be able to take much of this information into my classroom next year, and it will help me teach math effectively. This opportunity was a great way to learn more about math and get to know many more teachers.

Alignment
By attending this math conference teachers are continually evaluating their choices and their actions on others in the learning community.  I have actively been seeking out opportunities to grow professionally (INTASC #9) by attending these conferences.  Math lesson are always hard to plan and reflect on.  Using information I gained at this conference, I can add new ideas to my lesson plans and thus have new ideas to reflect about.
