Name

The Teaching Fellows Listserv is a quick and convenient method of communication between the large group.  Upcoming events and current news can easily be delivered to all Teaching Fellows.
Context

During the past four years (1998-2002) that I have been enrolled at Appalachian State University, I have been a member of the teaching Fellows Listserv.

Impact

The Teaching Fellows Listserv was created as an effective means of communicating with hundreds of students. Since the Listserv is a form of group email, it has proved to be a fast and easy method of communication between our organization’s members.

Alignment

The Teaching Fellows Listserv takes advantage of the convenience of online communications. This form of technology keeps members aware of news and important events such as seminars.Professional development is encouraged through the frequent notices sent out regarding seminars, service opportunities, tutoring positions available and so on.Emails are sent usually once a week, if not more, to ensure information is current.(Technology Standard V. A)  The Teaching Fellows Listserv encourages the development of students and teachers.  This form of technology can reap benefits now and in the future for myself and other Teaching Fellows as we continue to grow educationally and professionally.  (INTASC Standard 9)
