Name
Literature Database is a collection of summaries and reviews completed for a wide selection of children's books at different levels. Context Over my Block semester during 2001 I read several children's books and submitted summaries and reviews on each book to an online database. Entries could be submitted by accessing the Block 436 web page where a database format was located for information to be inserted. Impact The Literture Database can be helpful for others and myself while teaching as a reference tool. The Literature Database allows teachers to search for books that they have or have not read. The summaries ans reviews can serve as a reminder of what books are about or also as a way to determine if the book will meet the teacher's objectives for the class. If students read the Literature Database entries, then they can also use it as a way of finding books to read. The entries may entice students and teachers to read the books by filling in what the storyline is. Alignment My Literature Database includes children's books that I have read and that I can refer to in the future if I need to recall them for my class purpose. Completion of the Literature Database was accomplished over the course of the 2001 semester. Entering submissions to the online collection was simplified because the computer could hold a basic format for new entries to be submitted. Once the submissions were in the database they could easily be retrieved for editing. This example of technology also made it easier to maintain records of books that I had already completed. Typing and saving Literature in the database was more organized and presentable compared to keeping several printouts. Another benefit of the Literature Database is the convenience in which books can be referred to whether the submission was done myself or by someone else. (Technology Standard V. C) |
