Artifact # 8
Competency 10.2: "Use school television resources that support the curriculum."
Context:
This artifact required me to
search different television resources sites available for students. I made
a list of 5 sites and I inserted a footnote describing each site.
I also learned about
channel 1 in this artifact. Channel 1 is a campus operated news program
that is shown in the schools. This program provides the students
with important news in a fashion that will appeal to their age group. This
meets the NC competency goal #3: "The learner will use a variety of
technologies to access, analyze, interpret, synthesize, apply and communicate
information."
Impact:
My students will need
to get information from different television sources. I need to know
how they can obtain this information, but I also need to know what kinds
of information a student can get from researching a certain channel.
Students need to develop an
appreciation for learning about news and current events. Channel 1 provides
a fun and exciting way to promote the events of the world.
Alignment:
This artifact aligns with competency
goal 10.2. This artifact allows both television sources via the internet
and the television to support the school curriculum.
