Rationale 9: Sign up Sheet for Computer Lab

Competency:

14.2: "Ensuring equal access to media and technology resources for all students."

Context:
This artifact required me to design a sign up sheet for a computer lab. I used Microsoft Word to create this document. I created a table on my word document and I made an area for the student to write his or her name. I also made an area for the student to record his or her time in and time out, a place to write the number of the computer the student was working on, and a place to write the name of the student's teacher.

Impact:
I will probably be teaching in a school where there is not a computer for every student. A sign in sheet will enable me to monitor each student's computer time. I will be able to give priority computer time to the student who has not been able to spend much time on the computer.
The sign up sheet will also allow me to help solve a problem that may occur with a computer. When something messes up on one of the computers I will be able to know which students have used that particular computer. I can ask them if they had any difficulties using the computer. This knowledge may allow me to discover when and maybe what happened to the computer.

Alignment:
This artifact aligns with competency 14.2. A sign up sheet will keep the computer time usage of each students and will allow me to provide equal access to the computers.
