Map of a classroom layout:This is a map I made that I think would be an effective classroom set up.

 
Context
During my pre-service training, I learned about different ways to set up a classroom.I think it is important to have a classroom set up so it can easily accommodate to the students’ needs as well as the teachers needs.I think it is important to think through very carefully what kind of layout I’m going to have in my classroom and the kind of environment I want to have.In my technology class, I learned many skills and I am now able to design layouts on a computer to see what I think would work, and what wouldn’t work.

 
Impact
As a teacher, I know I will still use my technology skills to demonstrate how I want to set up my classroom.I will have different areas of the room for group work, different areas for centers, and centers for individual work.

 
Alignment
By making a classroom layout and explaining why I set up the classroom the way I did I am showing how physical settings can support active involvement (Tech. Comp. 12.4).I think it is important to provide an atmosphere in the classroom that reflects uses of technology because I want my students’ to be involved and excited about incorporating the uses of technology in their learning.  I have different areas set up in the classroom for group work and individaul work.  I think this is important because there are going to be times when I think it is appropriate for students to work and learn to together (i.e. group projects) and then there will be times when students need to work alone (i.e. taking a test) (INTASC # 5).
