Inquiry Project:I did a project on Mental Retardation to learn about different behaviors within a classroom.

 
Context
During my pre-service training, I did a project on children who are mentally retarded for an Inquiry project.I learned about students who are mentally retarded, the causes, symptoms, consequences, and behaviors that go along with mental retardation, and how as a teacher I will be teaching students who are mentally retarded or disabled.

 
Impact
I did a lot of research on mental retardation.I found the internet to be a huge resource for me as I worked on this project.I know that I will use the internet as a teacher to find out information on other disabilities that children in my class might have.

 
Alignment
While I was doing my research on mental retardation, I found information provided by state, local, and/or national services on the internet (Tech. Comp. 13.4).I learned a lot about IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and IEP (Individualized Education Program.
