Videotaping Students:A videotape of students' responses to ideas dealing with the media.
 
Context
This video was made for a project in my Integrating Media and Technology into teaching class during my pre-service training.The purpose was for me to observe students learning.I was doing a project in my class that focused on media/advertising.I wanted to see if kindergartners could distinguish the difference between "need" and "want".
 
Impact
This video can be part of a lesson to show students the different ideas of other classmates on what they believe "want" and "need" mean.It can also be used in the classroom as an introduction to a lesson on these ideas.
 
Alignment
This project is an example of one way to use technologies effectively and appropriately to collect information on student learning (Tech Comp 12.2).  Because this video can be shown to students/teachers it also meets Tech Comp 10.2.  This video would be a great way to utilize technology resources in the classroom for students to learn about media (Tech Comp 12.6).  I think it can help students when they hear/see something on a program and actually see how the subject matter they are learning can be linked to real life situations (INTASC # 6).
