Health Vertical File:  This is a collection of health resources, such as brochures, videos etc.

Context:
I created this vertical file my junior year in my Health for Elementary Education (-
HED 3645). This is a file of different resources for different areas of health.  I choose to include 20 different areas of health to find resources for.  Some of the areas are: asthma, diseases, stress, exercise, smoking, alcohol abuse, nutrition, resource books, etc.  For each of these areas, I included at least 10 resources. These resources include: pamphlets, brochures, videos, books and handouts. I collected these resources from different health buildings and ordered some from the Internet.  I also printed resources that I found from the Internet to use in this file.

Impact:
When I am in the classroom, I plan to have my health vertical file in the back of the classroom. Students may look at this health file to find information for a project we might be doing. Students may also look in the file when they have free time or have finished their work early.  I will also use the resources during lessons in the classroom. I will also show clips from some of the videos I have chosen.

Alignment:
I have located and selected appropriate resources for the target audience, including videotapes, texts, reference books and other print resources (Tech Comp 10.6).

In my health vertical file there are brochures for visual learners, videos for auditory and visual learners, and motor activities for kinesthetic learners. These resources with help diverse learners process the information in ways that are beneficial to them. I have located these resources from my local community, my state departments, and national services (Tech Comp 13.4)
