After all the work was done, the unit was placed on the internet using Netscape Composer. Impact: Literature Circles are a very effective way of teaching reading. The unit involves the students in many exploration activities. It also encourages students to read. By placing the unit on the internet, it becomes a valuable resource that is available to other teachers. Alignment: This web based literature unit meets the needs of diverse learners. The different jobs in each section allow students to explore and participate using the different learning styles. (Technology Standard II A) This unit also has the students thinking critical about each section of the book and discuss their feeling with other students in their group. It also give the students a chance to be creative with their thoughts and projects. (Technology Standard III C) This unit also exposes students to diversity and supports it. (Technology Standard VI C) This unit allows students to engage in interpreting ideas on their own. Opportunities are given for students to develop questions and make predictions. They will also be able to link prior learning with each job. (INTASC 1) This unit shows that I understand how students differ in their approaches to learning and proves that I can create instructional opportunities that will be adapted to diverse learners. (INTASC 3) This unit also encourages students to work together and share the information they have with each other in a comfortable environment. It also encourages and pushes the students to think on their own and explain their ideas to other members in their group. (INTASC 5) This literature circle addresses and provides opportunities for students
