Classroom Climate & Environment

Content:   The Classroom Climate & Environment artifact describes how I am going to manage my classroom.  It tells about how I am going to create a comfortable learning environment for my students.  It gives specific examples of management ideas I have to use in my classroom.  I wrote the essay during my block at Appalachian State University.

Impact:  The Classroom & Environment essay was an assignment for class, but I also look at it as a helpful tool.  When I was writing the essay it made me really realize all that goes into the management of a classroom.  It made me start to brainstorm about the way I want to run my classroom.  I truly think that the way a teacher manages his or her classroom reflects their philosophy of education.

Alignment:   I have included a drawing lay out of the set up of my ideal classroom.  There is an area in the room set up specifically dedicated to computers and technology.  The computer area will be set up like a station, where the students rotate to use the computers. (Tech. II-D)
INTASC #1 is also met in the Classroom Climate and Environment artifact because it describes how I am going to create a positive learning environment through meaningful experiences.
