Artifact # 6 |
Video Production
Content: A group of my fellow students and I created a video representation of the children's book The Wretched Stone. We created it using the I-Movie program on an I-MAC computer. It was a long process of taping and editing, but when the final product was finished we were very proud and satisfied. Impact: By allowing my students to create their own movie they have an opportunity to be creative and learn through doing. Alignment: Some students will be more creative than others, but some will will be better at the editing process on the computer. A Video Production project is great to address the diverse needs of students. (Tech III-B) In the Video Production artifact there are still clips from the actual video. There is also a list of jobs that need to be done in the process of making a video. These jobs can be distributed among group members, which is an easy way to manage all the work that has to be done while making a video. (Tech III-D) The Video Production artifact also covers Tech IV-A because the final production ia an assessment tool to see if the students understood the material. The students could not only create a short film, but they could also use video as a learning tool for other subjects. The Video Production project is a great way to encourage positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self motivation. The project id done in a group, so the group members have to communicate their thoughts and ideas to one another. It is an active process to create the movie and each group member has to be motivated in order to have a creative fun finished product. (INTASC #5) |
