I designed a classroom map that I feel supports active student involovement, inquiry, and collaboration (12.4). In the classroom map there is a large area for whole group discussions and activities, tables for individual and small group work, and centers. These centers include writing, listening, art, computers, math, puzzles, and housekeeping. This allows for the students to have a variety of atmospheres that all promote learning. It is also arranged so that there is plenty of storage space and the teacher can see all children at all times from her desk. |
