Portrait
of a Learner:
The portrait of a learner assignment involved choosing a student in the classroom that I was working with at Bethel. I collected information about my student through interviews, watching her everyday activities, and doing assessments with her in math and language arts (12.2). During the semester I captured footage of my student in different settings (at work, at play, at lunch, etc.). I primarily focused on her academic growth througout the semester (12.5). I took the information that I gathered about her and taped her during an average school day and some footage of me working one-on-one with her. The cooperating teacher in the classroom and I watched the video together and talked about the student's learning throughout the semester (12.3). Before I could do the work with my portrait of a learner student, I was required to send home a consent form for her parents to sign (14.1). A copy of the consent form can be found by clicking on the link below. |
