During my education at Appalachian State University, I created and presented a power point presentation in my Curriculum & Instruction 3850 Class under Jeff Fletcher and Sarah Zimmerman.  We had to present different definitions of the word literacy.  It was presented to my classmates and professors after it was completed.  However, a power point presentation has numerous and useful ways in can be used.  It was an effective way to show information to a large group of people.

This presentation helped me with my professional development.  It allowed me to familiarize myself with power point, and see the effects it has on the audience you present to.  I feel that it was effective and interesting, which are two main elements of a presentation.  It provided effective and understandable communication.

In my classroom, I plan on developing power point presentations to use with my curriculum and lesson plans (11.1).  I feel that it is an effective means in communicating a lesson or idea with my students.  Also, I feel that power point would be a comprehensible means of communicating curriculum information to a large audience of PTA or school board (11.2). Power Point is a great tool for communicating information.  It presents materials in a professional way, and is easy to be seen by the audience.  Also, during any power point presentation, the presenter is required to sight any resources used (14.3).  This was done on mine as well.
