Classroom
Management: This artifact is a document that addresses issues
of fair management in the classroom environment and includes a drawing
of a classroom layout with a computer signup sheet.
Context
These documents were created on Microsoft Word
during my Elementary Education block experience at ASU.
Impact
This document shows the kind of the learning environment
I want to establish in my classroom and addresses ways of accomplishing
those goals through the arrangement of the classroom and techniques for
behavoir management.
Alignment
In the classroom layout I have designed many different
areas of the room for group work. The desks are in groups of four,
which give space for student’s collaboration (Tech.
Competency 12.4). In the layout the teacher’s desk is the back
corner of the room so I would have a clear view of all the students.
The class is laid out with many different "traffic patterns" so while they
are doing group work I can easily see and move about all the students in
order to properly manage them through proximity control (Tech
Competency 12.5). In the computer corner there is a sign up sheet
that can give students equal access to the area (Tech
Competency 14.2).
