Social Studies Textbook Evaluation: This is an evaluation of two different social studies textbooks within the same grade level. The evaluation includes information on the text’s overall content, organization of chapters, paragraph and concept development, vocabulary density, and readability.

Context
This artifact was created on a word processing document during my block experience at Appalachian State University.

Impact
Creating this document gave me the experience evaluating two different textbooks for the classroom use. Although I may never use these specific textbooks, the experience of this assignment can be drawn upon when selecting resources to use in future classrooms.

Alignment
This artifact demonstrates that I have located and evaluated textbooks as an appropriate resource for teaching in a 4th grade classroom (Tech Competency 10.6).
