Artifact 11

Bilingual lesson plans and Internet translation information.  This webpage contains links to online resources for teachers and students to use to translate from or to English.

Context
This artifact was created during my Integrating Media and Technology with Classroom Instruction class at Appalachian State University in the fall of 2000.

Impact
This web resource page is available to teachers to use in their classrooms and for more effective communication with ESL parents.  Using the translation link will help teachers and parent communicate more effectively which ultimately benefits the student’s progress.

Alignment
The bilingual resource web page uses media and technology via the Internet to support learning for students whose primary language is not English.  Students can use the translation page as well as the teacher (Tech. Comp. 13.3).  Using the lesson plans from ERIC is appropriate to help instruct ESL students and also allow English speaking students experience with a language other than their own.  Using the lessons meet the diverse learning needs of the ESL students in your class (Tech. Comp. 13.4).
