Developmental Case Study:  an online resource of children's physical, intellectual, social and emotional needs arranged by grade level and also contains teacher tips and resources for additional information.

Context
My Curriculum and Instruction class created the Developmental Case Study web page during pre-service training at Appalachian State University, Fall 2000.

Impact
This online resource contains a wealth of helpful information that can be accessed quickly and easily by education professionals on the Internet.  This web page serves as a source of appropriate information and is well organized.

Alignment
By being online,  fellow teachers, parents and other colleagues can access the information presented in the Developmental Case Study to assist in providing appropriate educational opportunities for students (Tech. Comp. 12.3).  By using the information contained in the Developmental Case Study to create meaningful learning experiences, teachers are exhibiting an understanding of the tools of inquiry and structures of disciplines that pertain to a specific grade level (INTASC #1).  In addition, teachers will be better able to  provide appropriate learning opportunities that support students’ intellectual, social and personal development (INTASC #2).  By using the information contained in the Developmental Study, teachers can more accurately assess their students learning.  Using accurate assessment, based on theses standards, insures that students experience continuous intellectual, social and physical development as learners (INTASC #8).
