Parent newsletter: created using Microsoft Publisher software to be used as a way tp communicate with parents.
Context
This artifact was created as part of Media, Technology and Instruction
class during my pre-service training at Appalachian State University.
Impact
The parent newsletter will be used in my classroom as a means of keeping
parents informed of the instructional activities, themes and units students
are experiencing in class and opportunities for the parents to contribute
to their child’s education. I will send the newsletter home on a
weekly or biweekly basis to assure that the information is current and
most beneficial to parents.
Alignment
The parent newsletter fosters communication between parents and the
teacher by providing a line of communication through the information presented
in the newsletter. The newsletter will also become an additional
means by which students can gain extra access to resources via a list of
sources that printed in the letter of occasion. The resource lists
will correlate with the classroom instruction occurring during the time
the newsletter goes home (INTASC #10).
