The Classroom Management System Assignment was an analysis of the structure that governed the fourth grade classroom where I placed during my internship. It consisted of an examination of the three structures of classroom management: classroom routines, classroom environment and climate, and classroom discipline.

Context
This project was assessed and completed for my Curriculum and Instruction for the Elementary Schools class during my senior year at ASU.  I visited Ms. Morris' fourth grade classroom once a week for 10 weeks, and then every day for four weeks. The classroom management was an assignment that I was able to complete due to the experiences that I had in this classroom.

Impact
I was familiar with this particular group of fourth graders for about 12 weeks. In this time I observed, listened and taught these fourth graders. What I learned in that classroom about management may never be able to be placed on paper or explained in an essay.  Having the assignment is a guide to focus your attention to the three different parts;  the discipline, environment, and the routines a teacher establishes and why.  It helped me to have something specific to look for in the classroom structure. The teacher had many good engaging activities, such as math stumpers and sparkle (a team spelling game).  These are activities the children enjoy and approach with enthusiasm.

Alignment
In developing a regular classroom routine you are striving to create the best possible learning atmosphere for your students.  Positive classroom management allows all of your students to participate in a safe learning environment.  Included in my classroom management is a sketch of how I would like my ideal classroom to be set-up.  The sketch includes arrangements of student desks and areas for the computers to be placed.  Proper placement of resources within the room will allow the teacher to optimize student learning.   The sign up sheet is a quick and easy way to monitor the students use of computers while in the classroom. The teacher can refer to this sheet when trying to see who is spending the required time at the computers. (II D)  It also enables the teacher to make sure that the students are all allowed equal time to learn about computers and how they work. (VI E) The Net Nanny is a block available to parents and teachers who do not have the time to constantly monitor their children's use of the internet.  This allows the teacher to convey to the parent that she is promoting safe use of technology resources.
