Software evaluation, a review of Math Munchers, a mathematics program for multiple levels of learners

Context
This evaluation was completed during my pre-service training within the course “Mathematics in the Elementary School.” As part of the assignment, we were required to master the game and evaluate its strengths and weaknesses from a teacher's point-of-view.

Impact
My software evaluation provided me with the valuable experience of focusing on specific aspects of software and its use in my classroom. By examining a piece of software objectively, I feel that I can assess other software as well. This evaluation would be a beneficial reference in the future to both teachers and parents.

Alignment
This assignment created an opportunity for me to explore a piece of software and make decisions regarding its use in my future classroom. As part of the evaluation, I was required to assess the software's benefits and disadvantages, its most appropriate use, and the specific math skills that it would reinforce (Tech 10.6). The evaluation also includes several Internet resources that supplement the information in the evaluation and provide evaluations of other software (Tech 10.3). Students who have experience with Math Munchers will be exposed to many different mathematical concepts (Tech 11.3). Math Munchers can be adapted to meet the needs of many different levels and types of learners, which I addressed in my evaluation (Tech 13.1).
