Alignment  to INTASC Standards:
This artifact is a video production of a book that I read during my senior block.  The video project  addresses many highlights of the book Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine.  Its purpose is to reflect on the reading and get others interested in reading the book as well.  This project allows the learner and teacher to assume different roles in the instrucitonal process to help in learning content, purpose, and addressing learners needs (INTASC Standard 4).  It uses a variety of media communication tools to enrich learning opportunities (INTASC Standard 6).  The video can be used to make learning and reading literature fun and engaging for students.

Context:
This project was created in during my senior block after reading the novel Ella Chanted by Gail Carson Levine.  It highlights several areas of the novel and helps to reflect on what was read.  I created the video using I-Movie and digital cameras.  The class broke into several small groups and dumped each groups product onto a main tape.  The class edited the video and it was presented to a group of future interns.

Alignment:
This Ella Enchanted project meets competency 11.2 because several forms of technology was used to create the movie.  The use of digital cameras and I-Movie played a strong role in making the movie come together.  It also meets competency 12.6 because our group used the resources available to make the movie come alive so that it would capture the interest of all who saw it to read the book Ella Enchanted.  The teacher can use the television as a resource in the classroom to support the literature curriculum using Ella Enchanted and great books (competency 10.2, 11.3).
