A. Name. Software Evaluation
B. Context This project was created in my CI4000 class.
After choosing a particular sofware to evaluate, we reviewed the particular
program according to specific areas such as strengths and weaknesses, instructional
type, how we would use in our classrooms, user comments, as well as publishing
information.
C. Impact This is a useful tool to know how to use in the classroom.
As a classroom teacher, you are constantly coming across new software.
You should have the knowledge to be able to specify which parts of the
program are strong, and which are weak. This is also a way of organizing
the information that you have found.
D. Alignment
-
This project meets competency II.B because you are directly applying current
research on teaching and learning with technology to plan for your classroom
instruction. This artifact shows that I have thoroughly researched
the software and all of its aspects in order for my classroom to learn
through technology.
-
The Software Evaluation meets competency V.B because it specifically reflects
how the use of technology in school. In the section, user comments,
teachers and students are quoted on the usefullness of the software in
the classroom. Through your evaluation, you make informed decisions
regarding the use of technology in support of student learning
-
This project also meets INTASC principle #3. Principle #3 states,
the teacher understands how students differ in their approaches to learning
and creates instructional opportunities that are adapted to diverse learners.
By evaluation this software, instructional levels are taken into consideration.
The levels of the software adapts to diverse learners, as well as the creative
way of learning through a computer game.
