A. Name.  Webquest

B. Context This project was created in my CI3850 class.  We broke into small groups and selected a subject for the topic of our webquest, and then into grade level.  We created various links for this project, including:  introduction, task, process, evaluation, conclusion, credits, and a teacher page.

C. Impact This is a great assignment for children to complete, but without the regular feelings of paper and pencil assignments.  This webquest allows children to use technological skills in class, as well as catering to the needs of the science and literature courses of study.

D. Alignment

  • This project meets the competency V.C because it uses technology to make a teacher's job easier.  Computerizing a lesson plan, complete with links to specific web sites for children to explore allows for creative ways of completing an assignment without the constant supervision and direction of the teacher.  This assignment organizes the material into a convenient website for the easy use of the students.
  • This Webquest also meets INTASC principle #4.  This principle states that the teacher understands how students differ in their approaches to learning and creates instructional opportunities that are adapted to diverse learners. By understanding that students may learn better by different media, the teacher accomplishes this goal.  A webquest is a different approach to learning and creates an atmosphere that caters to diversity.
