Power
point Presentation
The power point presentation was developed in a college computer foundation
class. We worked as a group and chose the topic of inclusion to discuss
with other class members.
We discussed inclusion in elementary, middle, and high school levels.
A power point presentation communicates to the audience whether it is comprised
of students or adults (11.1). A lesson
plan could easily be put together with main topics and ideas so that the
students can prepare themselves for upcoming lessons. Not only can
a teacher produce a presentation, but he or she can allow the students
of all grades to create their own.
The power point presentation relays information clearly and precisely to
students (11.2). This opens the communication
between the teacher and students. The teacher can provide the relevant
topics so there is minimal confusion.
As a group studying under different educational levels, we chose the topic
of inclusion to the present on the power point program (11.4).
It is a growing debate in school systems and communities. As a cooperative
group we gathered information and organized it onto the program for other
classmates. We each will be teachers, and we felt it is extremely
important to discuss options, concerns, and attitudes.
Power point presentations like the one I produced relates main topic ideas
for the audience. It was important for me to learn ow to use the program
and present information so that I will be prepared to assist my students
in using the technology (12.1). It is
an excellent resource for the students to use to show what they have learned
from an assignment. They can easily collect and display their information.
I remember as a student in younger grades how bored I was just to hear
someone's paper, but this program makes presentations interesting.
Inclusion is the idea of allowing students with a disability to learn in
a regular or natural classroom, where they can benefit from a different
environment (13.1). The power point presentation
stated different ways to assist these students and it overall enhances
the knowledge of the viewers.
Our inclusion presentation also provided information about mainstreaming
and inclusion (pros and cons). It is important to educate others
including parents about the differences, similarities, debates, and attitudes
of different populations (13.2).
