Video Production

Context:  This project was created to fulfill a group requirement for a class called Integrating Technology into Instruction in spring 2002.  We adapted a segment of a children's book into a movie.  We videotaped our movie and edited it with a program called IMovie.

Impact:  Our group created a video for part of A Year Down Yonder, a children's novel by Richard Peck.  Before doing this activity with a class, I would show this video as a model.  This activity is a great way to integrate language arts and technology. It also encourages creative thinking and dramatic skills.

Alignment: The video encourages students to think creatively and solve problems.  (IIIC)  This project requires the teacher to creatively manage equipment, because there will be limited resources. A sign-up sheet should be created to check out equipment in order to efficiently manage the equipment.  (IIID)
