ESL Inquiry Project

Context:  This ESL Inquiry Project and Website was created to fulfill a group requirement in the Curriculum and Instruction for K-6 class in spring 2002.  We completed research on ESL education and created a website by using Netscape Composer.

Impact:  This ESL website provides information, suggestions, and resources for teachers and parents that want help with working with ESL students.  I would access this website if I needed suggestions for helping a student in my class.  I would also refer other teachers or parents to this site if they needed suggestions.

Alignment:  This website demonstrates that I can use technology to communicate and collaborate with the community to help students learn.  The group created this website in order to make ESL information available to others. (VD).  It also demonstrates that I can use technology to enable diverse learners succeed in the classroom because the webite was created to provide suggestions and resources to help ESL learners. (VIB)  This website also encourages celebration and respect for diversity and offers suggestions for achieving this goal.  (INTASC Standard 3)  We consulted professional literature related to ESL and an ESL professor to improve our knowledge on the subject. (INTASC Standard 9)
