A.  Title:
Culture Kit
This project was done based on the country of Ghana in Africa.  The culture kit contains different artifacts that represent the country's culture, land, and people.  The picture of this project was taken with a digital camera and edited in Adobe Photoshop.

B. Context
This item was created in my CI 3110 class, social studies in the elementary school.  This class was part of senior block during the spring semester of 2002.

C. Impact
This will be a valuable lesson to use in the classroom.  It will allow students to do research on different cultures and present their information in a creative way.  Research of the country can be done using the World Wide Web.  I will have the students document their culture kits with a digital photo.  Some of the materials they use in their culture kit might be items that are needed.  By taking a picture of their kit, the students will have a picture to show the contents.

D. Alignment
This assignment meets the needs of diverse learners.  This lesson incorporates a variety of different learning styles.  It is a hands on activity that involves the use of books, art supplies, the World Wide Web, and a digital camera.
(Technology Standard II A)

This culture kit activity, demonstrates my abilities to locate and use technology that supports diversity.  By
using the culture kit activity in my classroom, students will have the opportunity to learn about many diverse cultures.  By sharing the culture kits and the digital photos, students will be exposed to diversity among different places and cultures.
(Technology Standard VI C)
