Artifact: Author Study This was done in the masters class Children's Literature. This was done with a partner to learn more about a particular author and use technology.

Context:  This was done in Children's Literature to demonstrate the use of technology  and to do an in depth study of an author. This type of activity encourages student's interest in different authors. It also encourages them to pursue further readings of same author or similar books from other authors. This is an example of using various ways of using technology to demonstrate the students knowledge. Author studies is also a way for students to compare and contrast authors and other books that the students show interest in.  
This is also a good way to show authors purpose and connections, to enable the student to look more in depth into various literature and genres. My students use computers to write stories, write reports and reviews on books or stories they have read. They use the computer to publish their writings. The author study modeled an alternative approach. My students enjoyed discovering new creative techniques, involving  the computer. This allowed them another means to portray their works and acquired knowledge.
