Artifact 13:
NCCTM Math Conference: An annual conference of the North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics, intended for professional growth.

Context:
I attended this conference on October 5th and 6th of 2000 in the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro. At this conference I attended various workshops and sessions, as well as exhibits.

Impact:
By attending this conference, I learned about one of the many ways to develop professionally and reflect upon my teaching strategies during my career. I also learned that attending such sessions and workshops is a useful resource for gaining new ideas by talk with teachers from throughout North Carolina.

Alignment:
Attending the NCCTM Math Conference demonstrates that I plan to actively seek opportunities to grow as a teacher, as well as my willingness to evaluate my own methods of teaching. Conferences such as this one will provide me with opportunities to reflect upon my own teaching practices and discuss possible ways to improve upon them with colleagues (INTASC 9).
