Inquiry Project

Context
This is a research project created by myself and four other students in a Curriculum and Instruction class at A.S.U. We researched behavioral disorders in children and create a lesson about our research to teach to our classmates. In this project we provided info about and ways to help students in our classrooms that are affected by AD(H)D, mental retardation, Bipolar Disorder, and Autism.

Impact
I will use this in the future as a resource for when I am teacher. It will be kept in a notebook with other information so that when I have a question or need information because I have a student in my class affected by one of these disorders I will be able look up the information I need or use the list of source to find an answer that I don’t have.

Alignment
In doing the research for this project I found lots of websites, books, and articles about Bipolar Disorder.  I was able to read and share lots of information about how to approach a bipolar child in the classroom and understand their needs as a student and what they are capable of doing. I was able to use these technologies to understand how to reinforce skills and help students gain knowledge (Tech. Competency 13.2). Using this website would also allow me to meet the diverse needs of many different students, if I have students with different native languages than English. (Tech. Comp. 13.4)
