Rationale for Artifact Six: Modern Fashion and Invention Project
Competency 10.5: "The NC Computer Skills Assessment."
CONTEXT
I created this artifact during my block experience of my senior year at ASU. I worked with a partner and we chose a random object to develop a NEW and unusual product. Then I used Netscape Composer to create my own set of web pages. The web pages included an example that would entice people to buy my NEW invention, a teacher instruction page, as well as a student instruction page. The instruction pages contain information that will help teachers and students complete the project. These pages can be found via the Internet and can be used as an example for other teachers to follow when creating their own invention projects.
IMPACT
As a future educator, I know that technology is a large part of our society, therefore, I want to involve my students in doing all they can with different forms of technology. I designed this web page as an example for students to follow when creating their own invention/product. This project will aid students both socially and intellectually. Students will also become more familiar specific pieces of technology as well as with working in cooperative groups.
ALIGNMENT
The modern fashion and invention project aligns
with Technology Competency 10.5 because
it enables students to become more familiar with technology and use it
within within their classroom. Through the use of technology used
in their classroom, students will be aware of the computer skills assessment.
This project teaches students of the various ways to use computers
and various forms of technology.
