Sign-in/Sign-up Sheet for Computer Usage: The first sheet has spaces for students to record when they used the computer.  The next sheet has places for students who wish to use the computers to sign-up so that they may have a turn.

Context
While in a Microcomputers in Education class at Appalachian State University in the Spring of 20001, I created the sheets and rules that can be used to manage technology in schools.  I used a word processor to type the text and inserted a chart so that the information would be easier to organize.

Impact
These sheets will allow me to have a way to monitor who uses techonolgy and for how long.  This will help me to ensure equal access to technology within my classroom and even throughout the school, if I choose to use these sheets in a computer lab setting.

Alignment
The sign-up sheet will help me see who wishes to use the computer(s) and the sign-in sheet will allow me to monitor the amount of time students use the equipment.  It is important for me to document this type of information because I want to make sure that students are using computers in healthy amounts to avoid them damaging their eyes or other health problems that could result from using a computer too much (Technology Standard VI D).  Also, all students have equal access to techology resources in schools, so I can use the sheets to monitor who gets to use the computers and for how long (Technology Standard VI E)  By monitoring who uses the computers through the sign-in/sign-up sheets, I can help protect the equipment from damage (Technology Standard II D).
