Literature Database

Context:
In Block 436, at Appalachian State University, we learned to create database entries on the literature that we read in a children's literature course.  Under the instruction of Beth Frye we learned the importance of reading a variety of literature in the classroom.

Impact:
I would use this database to search for books that are appropriate for the grade level and subject that I plan to teach.  The database includes summaries, instructional ideas, and ratings for each book.

Alignment:
This database will assist me in quickly finding books that I can use in my classroom. It will be easy for me to look up a book and see the reviewer's evaluation (Technology Competency V C). By creating this database, I am communicating with teachers and parents. They can easily look on the database for suggested book readings (Technology Competency V D).     I will increase my knowledge of children's literature by referring to this database in the future.
