During an internship at Bethel School, I completed a project entitled
Portrait of a Learner. I choose one student out of my fourth grade
class and spent much of the day focusing on her. We did many different
kinds of assessments and interviews in order for me to learn more about
her as a learner. I also created a video of Crystal. This video highlighted
her academic and social life at school. This video was shown to professors,
classmates, future teachers, and Crystal and her parents. This audience
was allowed a peek at Crystal as a learner through the viewing of this
video production.
This artifact meets competency 12.2
through
the use of a video camera to collect information on a particular students
learning. I collected this data about Crystal by following her with
my camera and seeing her activities through the focused perspective of
a camera lens.
