I completed this map of a potential classroom set-up during my block experience at Appalachian State University.  The map is a thorough diagram of a classroom, containing various centers to facilitate technology, collaboration, and organization.  It shows desks, tables, storage spaces and various learning areas.

As a teacher, I will be able to use this map in setting up my own classroom.  This is especially helpful to me as a new teacher without a previous classroom design from which to draw.  The physical arrangement shown is my map plays an important role in setting the stage for listening, talking, reading, and writing.

The physical setting represented in this map supports active student involvement, inquiry, and collaboration.  It establishes areas that show the use of technology in the classroom (12.4).  This map also ensures equal access to the technology available in the classroom because it shows centers to facilitate access for all users (14.2)
