Artifact: Harry Potter Video-  Harry Potter Video Project: a cross curriculum activity, which brings children's literature and technology together.  This video project is based upon J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

Context: This video project was produced during my Block at ASU in the Spring 2001.  We used digital camcorders, television clips to gather our footage.  Finally, we used iMac to edit our films.

Impact: This project could be adapted in the classroom.  I hope to use the iMac program in my classroom.  Students would love to create their own movies.  This is a project, which allows students to show off their unique ideas, and creative sides.

Alignment: This activity would be a wonderful project for a class to work on together.  This type of lesson targets all different types of learners.  Students who do not perform as well in traditional classrooms may thrive with this project. (INTASC 4).  Video projects allow students to incorporate literature with technology, covering many NC Technology and Language Arts curriculum goals. (Tech 10.2).  This project forces students to be very familiar with the piece of literature chosen.  Teachers are able to help students bring characters to life, and learn more in-depth about story line, plot, etc.  This strategy proves to be effective while working with both the technology and language arts curriculum. (Tech 11.4)  Students who enjoy expressing themselves in a creative manner will especially enjoy this project. (Tech 12.7)
