Net Nanny Reflection

Context:
I created this artifact when the issue of internet safety, from inappropriate sites, was raised.  We had a discussion on the issue in my CI 4000 class during my block, Fall of 2001, and the issue really concerned me.& nbsp; How will we be able to keep students from accessing inappropriate sites?  Is there anyone to help us?  After I asked myself these questions and researched the topic, I found NetNanny.

Impact:
As a teacher, programs like NetNanny will enable me to allow my students use of Internet technology without having to worry about their safety.  When worries such as these are obsolete, technology competencies on the standard course of study are much easier to accomplish and access.

Alignment:
There are ethical practices that must be used when using technology such as the internet.  Net Nanny models these practices and helps children learn what sites are appropriate and which ones are not (VIA).   Net Nanny also promotes a safe and healthy use of technology resources by no t allowing students to view certain sites (VID)
