Artifact 1- Software Evaluation

A software evaluation for teachers to use as a resource.
The software is called Math Quest.

Context

This evaluation was developed to satisfy my curriculum and instruction software evaluation assignment.  My feedback about the software consisted of a reflection done with my software evaluation partner and having to choose the pros and cons of the software.

Impact

This software evaluation will allow teachers to have a quick reference and overview of the math software by linking to www.superkids.com/aweb/pages/reviews/math/4/mquest/merge.shtml.
A teacher can choose to view the software and link onto review sites about the software and decide whether it is appropriate material to use in the class and also use it as a challenge for students that are above grade level.

Alignment

This software evaluation corresponds with Technology Competency Goal 10.3 because it gives teachers resources for planning instruction and it would help enhance a lesson plan.  This artifact also corresponds with Technology Competency Goal 13.1 because it offers challenging levels to students above grade level.  It is a resource for planning instruction in the Math discipline area.  This assignment also satisfies INTASC standard number 6 because the teacher offers a way of learning through media communication by providing a computer activity that is both fun and educational and it keeps the student interested in what they are learning.
