This activity is a video of interviews on the issue of violence.
Context
This assignment was created during my media and technology class. I used the video camera from the media lab to get footage of an interview with four first grade students at the school where I had my internship.
Impact
A teacher can use this activity as an assessment tool of their students. The teacher can pick an issue that she would like to hear feedback from her students on and interview them and get them on video tape or she can place the students into groups of 3 or 4 and let them choose an issue to ask other teachers in their school or their parents/relatives. The issue needs to be approved by the teacher.
Alignment
This assignment meets the Technology Competency
goal 10.2 because it can be used as an assessment tool to evaluate
students and also a teacher can develop lesson plans on important issues
the students need to comprehend and visually see, by utilizing school television
resources. With this assignment, I meet the Information Skills Curriculum
relating to media literacy and media analysis.
