Home Page | Artifact 11- Classroom Management and Setup
Context This artifact was created during my Curriculum and Instruction class in my block 436 which is required before student teaching. I used netscape composer and adobe photoshop to scan my picture of the classroom setup so that it is able to be viewed when "Setup" is clicked on. Impact This artifact will be used in my classroom to help manage and coordinate classroom activities and discipline. The general setup is going to be used as an effective learning strategy to benefit the learning of the students in my class. Alignment This artifact meets technology competency
goal 12.4 because I have presented a scanned copy of a possible classroom
setup that can be used to facilitate active and collaborative work by the
physical arrangements of the desks and the arrangement of other important
stations within a classroom. This artifact also meets technology
competency goal 12.5 because discipline and routines are discussed
in the classroom management and the discipline and routines that are discussed,
clearly show organizational and management procedures that help facilitate
active and collaborative work. For example, the students will
have a "done folder" and a "not done folder" in which their work will be
placed. The students will know that if they are finished with a current
assignment that they are working on then they are to proceed to their "not
done folder". This artifact satisfies INTASC
standard 3 because the setup of the classroom is geared toward creating
instructional opportunities for diverse learners who have different learning
styles. This artifact also satisfies INTASC
standard 9 because I will evaluate the effectiveness of my classroom
and management and be very willing to modify and grow professionally by
greatfully adhering and accepting advice from parents, teachers, students,
and the community.
