Artifact 2- Newsletter

A piece of material for parents to view, in the form of a newsletter.

Context

This artifact was created during my media and technology class on Microsoft Word processing program on October 30, 2000.

Impact

This newsletter can be used to inform parents of what their child is learning and activities they are doing in class.  With this newsletter there is no miscommunication with the parents or child.  It is important as a teacher to make parents aware of what their child is doing in school.  This particular newsletter is used to inform the parents of a PTO meeting that is going to be held at school on November 8, 2000 at 7:00pm.  Refreshments will be served and plans for a holiday play in December will be discussed.

Alignment

The newsletter correlates to the Technology Competency Goal 12.3 because the teacher has used technology to communicate with parents and others on their child’s learning.  This artifact meets the INTASC standard number 10 because the newsletter fosters relationships with parents by providing information on their child’s learning.  The newsletter is an effective way to communicate outside of school.
